Comms Manager

Healthcare PR and Comms - Salary: Up to £52k FTE

Interim - In house - Full time - South East

Our client - one of the world's biggest pharma companies - is looking for an experienced professional communicator, preferably with a background that includes experience of working within the NHS, a healthcare comms  agency/team or a pharmaceutical company. You will have the complete mix of communications skills from developing internal, external, advocacy product communications plans to implementing tactical media campaigns. Working as part of a small team this is an exciting opportunity for an individual to shape corporate, internal, product and advocacy communications.

On a day to day basis you will:

• Play an active role in the External Affairs team
• Shape and implement internal communications to build employee engagement
• Work with leadership to translate broad business objectives into effective targeted ‘messages’ for employees
• Manage copy writing, editing and proof reading for a range of internal communications and channels; intranet, bimonthly magazine, etc
• Work closely with External Communications colleagues to ensure integrated communications
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
• Ensure all activities undertaken are in compliance with internal and external regulations
• Measure and evaluate outputs.  

It would be a distinct advantage if you could demonstrate proven experience as an all round communications professional with solid understanding of internal communications practice, approaches, media and tools. You will also be able to show good commercial awareness, with strong influencing skills. Strong writing abilities and experience in developing materials are vital as is good knowledge of UK media and key journalist contacts. It would be beneficial if you have previous experience in managing external agencies. Pharmaceutical industry experience and knowledge of the various issues affecting the UK industry, including pricing, reimbursement and access is a plus
