This role will have primary responsibility for direct account team activity to ensure appropriate strategic programmes are developed and implemented in order to achieve client objectives within the  healthcare arena. You will be expected to keep abreast of external issues and events and regularly review their impact upon programmes and client objectives. This role also has responsibility for the financial status of accounts and account profitability while maintaining an agreed annual fee income for the programmes.

In terms of client contact and liaison you will contribute to the development of client marketing strategy and maintain social contact with client personnel and regular contact regarding account direction, staffing and other issues as appropriate. It is important that you are able to establish and maintain a role as consultant/adviser to client and offer expert counsel. You will ensure regular strategic reviews of accounts in accordance with direction from the Business Unit Head and/or Managing Director. Within this role there is also scope to create and develop opportunities for organic growth of existing business. At the same time you will be required to assist in the driving and development of new business pitches in accordance with direction from the Business Unit Head and/or Managing Director.

As an experienced Account Director you will also be used to leading and motivating staff to fulfil their potential and assume responsibility and accountability appropriate to their position. You will be responsible for key contact with opinion leaders (medical/media and industry) while identifying opportunities to build the opinion leader database and develop additional activity. Within the media you will develop and maintain a good understanding of UK and international/European media and  relationships with key editors/producers responsible for UK and/or international/European media outreach in the healthcare sector.
